3 Ways to Make a Difference During COVID19
1. Contribute to Manatee Community Foundation’s Manatee County COVID-19 Community Response Fund.
The Manatee County COVID-19 Community Response Fund was established with a generous $500,000 gift from an anonymous donor to provide support to local nonprofits helping people through this public health crisis. With additional donations from caring people, the fund has awarded more than $720,000 in grants to local health and human service organizations serving Manatee County residents.
Contributions in any amount make a difference to improve the lives of local families. Give with your donor advised fund, give online, or mail a check to Manatee Community Foundation, 2820 Manatee Avenue West, Bradenton FL 34205, with COVID-19 in the memo.
2. Provide unrestricted support for trusted nonprofits.
Unrestricted support is even more important today. Many organizations are working to keep their operations open and to adapt to a new way of working and reaching those they serve. Your charitable gifts allow them to pivot rapidly when new needs and conditions emerge.
Email Joan McCaw at Joan@ManateeCF.org or Jennifer Abbott at JAbbott@ManateeCF.org to discuss how you would like to make a difference. We can provide recommendations based on the missions that are most important to you.
3. Support individuals and families with one-time emergency financial assistance.
The Season of Sharing Fund helps individuals and families who require one-time assistance with utility, rent, transportation or other critical needs. In place for more than 20 years, the Community Foundation of Sarasota County’s Season of Sharing Fund is a time tested approach to preventing homelessness. When you make your charitable gift, you can designate it to support Manatee County residents to ensure that local families remain in their homes.
