Manatee Students Cultivate A Love for the Arts With smARTen Up Summer Camp
The arts are an essential part of our human development, and here in Manatee County, our students deserve the opportunity to cultivate a love for the arts all year long.
The Manatee Arts Education Council’s first-ever smARTen Up Summer Camp gave students a rotation schedule featuring dance, theatre, visual art, media arts, general music, and choir.
Fourth-grade through seventh-grade campers also got to experience band and orchestra classes.
Many students were able to attend the week-long camp at no cost. Staff salaries were funded, and camp materials were provided from generous granting agencies. Grants from the Lakewood Ranch Community Fund of Manatee Community Foundation and the Eugene F. and Elizabeth Hull Fund at the Manatee Community Foundation supported this exciting learning at Lee Middle School last week.
